DAD'S RAMBLINGS -- RECONCILIATION

RECONCILIATION
II Corinthians 5:18

"Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation."

Reconciliation. When my checkbook does not balance with the bank statement, there is turmoil in my mind. I cannot change the bank statement so I have to find the error I made in my checkbook. But what a relief when I find and correct the problem and bring them into agreement – that is reconciliation. When two married people who are estranged by their differences are able to admit their faults, and come back into relationship – that's reconciliation. When I recognize that my life is estranged from God, admit that I have sinned and repent, and through Christ come back into relationship – that's reconciliation. God does the reconciling but He does not change Himself to agree with me. I have to admit the problem in my own life and then come into agreement with God that I have sinned. Then He reconciles me to Himself. What a wonderful word – reconciliation.

TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: When we recognize that we are estranged from God by sin and repent, then God reconciles us and brings us back into fellowship with Himself.

Have a reconciled day. Love you.
