Dad's Ramblings -- Lessons from History

" 'Why then do you harden your hearts as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts? When He did mighty things among them, did they not let the people go that they might depart?....Then send it (the ark) away and let it go.' "

                                               I Samuel 6:6, 8b

It is a fool who will not learn from history. The Philistines were not fools. Even though it had been hundreds of years since God had miraculously delivered Israel from the bondage of Egypt, the Philistines remembered the story. They took that lesson and applied it to their own lives. "Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition...." (I Cor. 10:11). History is a great teacher if we will listen.

Today's Thought: History and experience are great teachers, but we must apply the lessons.

Have a remembering day. Love you.
