Dad's Ramblings -- Consequences

"But the hand of the LORD was heavy on the people of Ashdod, and He ravaged them and struck them with tumors, both Ashdod and its territory. And when the men of Ashdod saw how it was, they said, 'The ark of the God of Israel must not remain with us, for His hand is harsh toward us and Dagon our god.' "

The Philistines had a choice to make. They could submit to the God of Israel, or reject Him. In retrospect, it does not seem to be a difficult choice since they had seen God's superiority. But they chose to keep their old God, Dagon. There are consequences for rejecting God. We cannot spurn Him without receiving His judgment. My concern for America is the judgment we will receive for rejecting Him. I fear "His hand will be harsh toward us."

Today's Thought: There are consequences for rejecting God.

Have an accepting day. Love you.
