QUESTION AND ANSWER TIME
I Peter 3:13-14
"And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? But even if you should suffer for righteousness sake, you are blessed. And do not be afraid of their threats nor be troubled."
Question: "What kind of person would repay your goodness with evil?" Answer: The godless sinner. Peter acknowledges that sometimes the reward for doing good is suffering. We have examples in the good old USA of people who are going to jail for their righteous deeds because there are ungodly people – inspired by their father Satan – who do not like God's way. So I can expect to pay a price for pleasing God. But I need not be afraid of them because I will receive God's blessing, which is better than praise from the world-system.
TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: God's blessing for doing what is good outweighs the abuse by ungodly people.
