PROVISIONS FOR THE JOURNEY
Genesis 45:21, 23
"Then the sons of Israel did so; and Joseph gave them carts, according to the command of Pharaoh, and he gave them provision for the journey .... And [Joseph] sent to his father these things: ten donkeys loaded with the good things of Egypt, and ten female donkeys loaded with grain, bread, and food for his father for the journey."
Pharaoh not only promised a good place to live when Jacob got to Egypt, he also provided everything needed for the journey to get there – clothing and food, and even transportation – in abundance. How like our God. He not only promises a good place in heaven, but He also provides everything we need on this earth while we are on the journey. "Blessed be the Lord [Adonai] who daily loads us with benefits" (Psalm 68:19). " 'Therefore do not worry, saying, "What shall we eat?" or "What shall we drink?" or "What shall we wear?" .... For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things' " (Matthew 6:31-32). "And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). What a wonderful God we serve!!!
TODAY'S PRINCIPLES: God knows what we need for the journey, and we can trust Him to provide.
