HIGH NOON
Genesis 43:24-25
"So the man brought the men into Joseph's house and gave them water, and they washed their feet; and he gave their donkeys feed. Then they made the present ready for Joseph's coming at noon, for they heard that they would eat bread there."
High Noon. The brothers others had to face their fears and meet with Joseph. There comes a time when we must confront our fears. In the movie "High Noon," after running away on the stagecoach with his bride, the Sheriff overcomes his fears and returns to face his enemies. The Sheriff meets the villains in the street for a showdown at noon. Dealing with my own fears is like that. I try to run away from them, but I live in turmoil until I confront them. Sometimes, as with Joseph's brothers, the fears are unfounded. But I will not have peace until they are dealt with. Fear is a legitimate emotion that God has instilled in us to keep us from danger, but it is a bondage when it controls me. Paul wrote to a young preacher, Timothy, who apparently was being hindered in his ministry by fear, "God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (II Timothy 1:7). Facing my fear is not easy, but it is the path to liberty.
TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: Confronting fear is the way to freedom.

Have a fearless day. Love you.
