THE HUMAN PERSPECTIVE
Matthew 16:22-23
“Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying ‘Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You’ But He turned and said to Peter, ‘Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me because you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.’ ”
From his human, worldly perspective, Peter was telling Jesus – the One he had just confessed was God – what to do. He was actually being a mouthpiece of Satan. How often I, like Peter, tell God what to do. I sometimes don’t like the way God does things, and from my human perspective, I think I have a better idea, so I tell Him how I think it ought to be done. This only shows that I am not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men. I am faced with the options of accepting God’s plan or being a tool of Satan to fight it. May my prayer always be, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
TODAY’S PRINCIPLE: God’s way is always the best way, even when I don’t understand it.

Have a “God’s perspective” day. Love you.
