DAD'S RAMBLINGS -- DANCING WITH THE WORLD

DANCING WITH ThE WORLD
Matthew 11:16-19

" 'But to what shall I liken this generation?  It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to their companions, and saying: "We played the flute for you and you did not dance.  We mourned for you, and you did not lament."  For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they said, "He has a demon." The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they said, "Look, a glutton and a wine-bibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners."  But wisdom is justified by her children.' "

What does this mean?  I think the essence is that you can' t please the worldly generation.  If you live holy and don't do what they do -- join their dance -- they think you're an oddball or worse.  If you live like they live, they call you a hypocrite.  It's a no win situation.  So the best way to live is to please God and not worry about what the unbelievers think.  The end result --the off-spring of my life -- will show the wisdom of living for Jesus.

TODAY'S PRINCIPLE:  The Christian can't dance with the world and live for Jesus at the same time.

Have a "dancing with Jesus" day.  Love you.
