DRAW NEAR
Genesis 45:3-4
Genesis 45:3-4
"Then Joseph said to his brothers, 'I am Joseph; does my father still live?' But his brothers could not answer him, for they were dismayed in his presence. And Joseph said to his brothers, 'Please come hear to me.' So they came near. Then he said: 'I am Joseph your brother whom you sold into Egypt.' "
I am sure that when Joseph revealed himself to his brothesr, all the guilt that they had carried for these many for selling him into slavery rose to the surface of their conscience. They were dismayed as they stood before Joseph because he had the power to condemn them to death for their sin. Instead, Joseph called them to come near to himself. What a demonstration of grace. As I stand before my Savior, I am confronted by the sins of my past. He has the power to punish me and condemn me to hell. Yet in grace, He says, "Come near to Me." Instead of banishing me for my sin, He calls me to Himself, and I draw near to Him. "Having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water" (Hebrews 10:21-22). O, what a wonderful Savior!!!
TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: The grace of Jesus calls us to Himself in spite of our sin.

Have a "drawing near" day. Love you.
