ASLEEP
Jonah 1:5b
"But Jonah had gone down into the lowest part of the ship, had lain down, and was fast asleep.""
How can this be? Jonah – the man of God who hears God's voice – is sleeping, seemingly oblivious to people all around him who were in fear and distress. How can he turn a deaf ear to their cries? He isolated himself and slept, perhaps thinking that he could avoid God's call on his life by just ignoring the issue. But it is not that easy. God knew where he was – physically and spiritually – and would give him no rest. O Lord Jesus, so much of your church is sleeping while people around us are in fear and distress, and facing death. Wake us up, O Lord!!!!
TODAY'S THOUGHT: Many Christians are asleep, oblivious to the needs of people around them.
Have an awakening day. Love you.
