AN ABUNDANT ENTRANCE
II Peter 1:10-11
"Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
There's that word "diligent" again (see vs. 5). Getting to heaven is the most important thing a person can do, but it takes effort, focus, commitment and persistence to live godly in this present world. Nothing in this world is worth stumbling over and causing me to miss heaven. And I don't want to slide into heaven by the seat of my pants. I look forward to an "abundant entrance" with bands playing and choirs singing when I walk through the gate. "Oh, I want to see Him, look upon His face, there to sing forever of His saving grace.
On the streets of glory, let me lift my voice. Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice." I can be sure of my calling and election as long as I am diligent.
TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: Getting to heaven requires diligent living in this world.

Have a diligent day. Love you.
