DAD'S RAMBLINGS -- OUT OF THE PIT

OUT OF THE PIT
Genesis 37:26-28

"So Judah said to his brothers 'What profit is there if we kill our brother and conceal his blood? Come and let us sell him to the Ishmaelites, and let not our hand be upon him, for he is our brother and our flesh.' And his brothers listened. Then Midianite traders passed by; so the brothers pulled Joseph up and lifted him out of the pit, and sold him to the Ishmaelites for twenty shekels of silver. And they took Joseph to Egypt."

Judah (which means praise) was more tenderhearted toward Joseph than his brothers. Perhaps he was touched by the cries of Joseph in the pit to please get him out and set him free. Because of Judah's intervention, Joseph was lifted out of the pit and saved from the judgment of death. I also have a tenderhearted Savior – the Lion of the tribe of Judah (Revelation 5:5) – Who heard my cry and lifted me out of the pit and saved me from the judgment of death. "I waited patiently for the LORD, and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay" (Psalm 40:1-2a). Praise be to Jesus for His wonderful kindness toward me.

TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: It takes a tenderhearted savior to lift another person out of a pit.

Have a praising day. Love you.
