Elijah had the classic symptoms of depression – isolation, loss of hope, self-pity ("I've had enough!"), sleepiness, loss of self-worth, and even a desire to die. Depression often comes after a great emotional high when the adrenalin quits flowing. When I was teaching, I hit bottom after every concert. Preachers often take Monday's off because of the let-down after a Sunday of ministry. God did not scold Elijah. He knows our frame, and He does not condemn, but allows time for healing and regaining our strength.
TODAY'S THOUGHT: God created us and knows that we sometimes hit bottom but He does not condemn us for it.
Have a renewing day. Love you.
