THE MYSTERY OF GOD
I Corinthians 2:7, 10, 14
"But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory .... But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit .... But the natural man does not receive the things of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them for they are spiritually discerned."
The mystery of God – that He Himself would leave heaven and come to earth to die on a cross for our salvation – does not make sense to the natural mind. But then, so much of God's wisdom is counterintuitive to human thinking – such as the knowledge that life comes from dying, or that getting comes from giving. It only makes sense by God's revelation. But God has revealed it if we will open our hearts to receive His revelation.
TODAY'S THOUGHT: The human mind cannot understand God's mystery apart from revelation.
