BELOVED BY GOD
Daniel 9:21-23a
" 'While I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel ... reached me about the time of the evening offering. And he informed me, and talked to me, and said, "O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you skill to understand. At the beginning of your supplications the command went out, and I have come to tell you, for you are greatly beloved; ...." ' "
Does God love some people more than others? I think so. I know that there is no partiality with God (Acts 10:34), and that God loves the world (John 3:16). But there is a special kind of love God has for those who believe in Jesus (John 16:27). He loves them just as Jesus was loved by the Father (John 17:23). But there is a deeper love for those who are close to Him. The disciples are an example. Jesus had twelve disciples who were followed Him. But there was an inner circle (Peter, James, and John). And of the three, only John could say of himself that he was "the one whom Jesus loved" (John 13:23). He had a relationship with the Lord Jesus that allowed him to lean on Jesus' breast. Daniel also had a special relationship with God. He was "greatly beloved." How do you get that kind of relationship? By spending time in His presence. Both John and Daniel spent time with God. Daniel had an consistent prayer life – communing with God. Relationships take time to develop. I think there is a special thing God has with people who will spend time with Him.
TODAY'S THOUGHT: Those who are greatly beloved by God spend time in His presence developing relationship with Him.
Have a "greatly beloved" day. Love you.
